THE REQUIREMENT
The colleges for which this application has been developed were facing huge problems in the management of the admission process. Every year, students in thousands queued up for collecting admission forms and then again for submitting the forms. This led to problems in managing the applications, resulting in annoyed parents and students alike.

Also, the admission process was not transparent, leading to scope for widespread malpractices.

SOLUTION
In order to rectify these shortcomings, the online admissions system was developed whereby students need not collect physical forms.

Students were required to visit the website of the college, fill in the admission form and submit it online. On successful admission, the students were electronically notified of the outcome.

TECHNOLOGY USED
The online admissions management system is a web based application developed on ASP and MS SQL Server.

THE IMPACT
This saved a lot of time and effort on the part of the college as well as for the students. Moreover, the merit list of admitted students was also generated automatically by the application, ruling out any chance of foul play. In this case only the deserving candidates got admitted to the college.

This application has been accepted with widespread praise and as such several other colleges have approached us for implementing a similar system for them.
